What are social skills groups?
Social skills groups are small groups (typically two to four kids) led by an Instructor Therapist who teaches the kids how to interact appropriately with others their age. They can help kids learn conversational, friendship and problem-solving skills.
What is in-person social skills group?
IN-PERSON social skills group is when the Clinical team assesses each child through interactions and observations to identify goals to target those behavioral goals for improvement.
Behavior Clinicians focus on building new skills that will help each child learn how to interact with others and communicate with friends/peers in a semi-structured social setting/environment.
Social Skills groups are 1.5 hours per week and are paid in 12 session blocks, more than 2 cancellations per block will lead to termination. 12 sessions are renewed after each block and it is recommended the child continues for a 12-18 months or until discharge.
